Creating EQUAL Access to Entrepreneurship (CREATE)

The aim of the CREATE development partnership was to encourage people from disadvantaged groups to consider self-employment, using structured business formats (SBFs) such as franchising, licensing and agency distribution agreements as business models. This Development Partnership was led by Exemplas Ltd and located in Hertfordshire. It was based on the understanding and knowledge that individuals could experience a wide range of barriers that could stop them starting a business or franchise. It was recognised that a number of pitfalls could be avoided by taking the right information and advice. CREATE aimed to raise awareness of the issues to address when starting a franchise and provide the tools that can give the best chance of running a successful business.
