What is enterprise ecology?

Enterprise ecology is a way of looking at local economies that takes a holistic view.

What is the mix of businesses? (sectoral, size, ownership, social or commercial)

Is the enterprise system fertile? (births, growths, versus contractions and closures)

What is the economic history and evolution of the area and how does this affect enterprise now?

How do enterprise supply chains operate? (from sharks to bottom feeders)

How does energy and money flow through the enterprise ecosystem

Are there symbiotic relationships between residents and businesses?

Is the enterprise system sustainable? (waste, commuting miles, resource miles, energy)
